The New Kenton Learning Centre, Harrow, built on the grounds of Glebe First & Middle School but part of the Stanmore College faculty, is a new two storey building supplying a much needed adult and community education resource for Harrow Council dedicated to serving the needs of the local area. The Centre has been designed as a focal point for the community, accessible to all ages and abilities. The facility includes an IT suite, a family learning room, as well as flexible teaching rooms and a large sub-dividable multi-use space.

The simple rectilinear form of the building is enlivened by full height high-performance windows in order to maximising daylight, thereby reducing artificial light usage and power consumption, as well as providing views across the school playing field to the North. To the South solar shading is incorporated to prevent overheating and glare. A large roof light over the central stairway and glazed lift will admit daylight deep into the building while a canopy above the entrance and enclosed play area will provide protection from the elements. The construction materials and methods have been carefully chosen to maximise energy efficiency and ensure the building not only achieves but exceeds the stringent new regulations.
